Moosehead Lake in Greenville Maine holds an almost mystical place in
the hearts and minds of residents of Maine and others who have shared
in this remarkable recreational environment. The lake is the largest lake
east of the Mississippi within the boundaries of one state. It has 400
miles of shoreline (40 miles long and 20 miles wide) and countless
islands that dot the pristine waters. Moosehead Lake has three major
rivers flowing in or out of it - the Kennebec, the Roach and the Moose,
all providing fantastic fishing opportunities.

Surrounding the lake there are countless mountain peaks that provide skiing, hiking, hunting, snowmobiling and more. On the southern end of the lake sits Greenville Maine, the tourist and commercial center of the area. A lot of recreational areas describe themselves as four season resort areas. The Moosehead Lake area has the natural elements to be one of the finest four season areas in the country.
